The Department of Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery (CTVS) at Shalby International Hospitals specializes in performing surgical procedures for diseases affecting the heart, lungs, and blood vessels. The team offers both conventional and minimally invasive interventions, creating personalized treatment plans and ensuring proper rehabilitation post-surgery. The department treats conditions such as congenital heart diseases, aneurysms, arrhythmia, carotid artery diseases, cardiomyopathy, coronary artery diseases, pericardial diseases, and valvular diseases.

Our dedicated team of cardiac surgeons provides expert care in adult cardiac surgery, congenital heart disease management, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, and minimally invasive cardiac procedures.

Adult Cardiac Surgery – Includes procedures like CABG, valvular replacement/repairs, aortic surgeries (Bentall operation, aorta replacement).
Valve Replacement – Heart valve replacement is performed for severe valvular diseases like aortic stenosis, aortic regurgitation, mitral stenosis, mitral regurgitation, etc. Surgeries may be standard, minimally invasive, or transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). Symptoms include dizziness, angina, palpitations, and breathing difficulties.
Aneurysm Repair – Surgically treats balloon-like bulges in arteries (especially the aorta) to prevent rupture. Causes include atherosclerosis, injuries, or congenital weakness.
Vascular Repair – Treats diseases of the vascular system to restore normal blood circulation. Most procedures use cardiac catheterization with imaging guidance.
CABG – Coronary Artery Bypass Graft creates a bypass for blood flow around diseased arteries using healthy blood vessels from other parts of the body.
VATS – Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery uses a minimally invasive technique with thoracoscopy for diagnosing and treating chest diseases without large incisions.
Congenital Heart Disease – Heart diseases present from birth, categorized as cyanotic and acyanotic. Symptoms include breathing difficulty, feeding issues, failure to thrive, blue skin, and swelling. Treatments include ASD Closure, VSD Closure, TOF Repair, and correction of complex cyanotic disorders.
